What is PTA?

PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. PTA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit association that prides itself on being a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for public education.

What is the goal of Beachland Elementary School PTA?

The Beachland Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a community of parents and educators working together to supplement the educational experience for all of our children. Your membership dues and donations will fund many wonderful school programs including Fall Festival, Grandparents Day, Donuts with Grown Ups, Read-a-thon, End of Year Event, and so much more. We hope you will join the PTA and volunteer your time to help shape the Beachland Elementary School experience for our children.

How much does it cost to join the PTA?

Annual dues, which must be paid each year, are only $10 per individual or sign up for a Family Membership for $50 and be recognized as a Shark Family Sponsor.  Membership dues (less state/national fees) are tax deductible.

What can I do to help enhance my student’s education?

A key way to show support and involvement is by becoming a PTA member. Your membership helps support valuable enrichment programs and equipment that Beachland Elementary otherwise could not afford. Through PTA membership you can participate in your child’s education by volunteering for a committee, attending meetings, voting on important PTA decisions, and providing ideas and feedback. Whatever level of involvement you choose, your time and efforts show your child that you care about their education.

What are the benefits of joining?

The PTA benefits parents as well as students/staff/school. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. Joining the PTA also means you get a “VOICE and a VOTE” in helping shape the education of your child at Beachland Elementary. Every dollar we spend is debated and voted on by the membership at our meetings.

If I join do I have to…?

Go to meetings?

No, but we’d love for you to come to general meetings! We discuss ideas, initiatives, and events at Lowry, and would love your input.

Volunteer or spend a lot of time at school?

Nope! Joining the PTA is not the same as volunteering. If you choose to volunteer we would LOVE the help—but volunteering is not required.  Likewise, if you choose not to become a dues-paying member of the PTA, we’d still be happy to have your volunteer support.

Who can join?

Beachland PTA is an inclusive organization that is open to all adults who care about children and schools. It is made up of parents, guardians, family, friends, teachers and members/business owners of the community.

How do I join?

Joining is simple! Just click on "Join" in the menu bar and choose your membership.

How can I volunteer?

We have many opportunities for parents to volunteer and make a difference at the school. There are ways to help even if you work full time or have younger children in your care. If you would like to volunteer, be sure to like and follow our Facebook page Beachland Elementary PTA.  Also, sign up for emails.

How can I keep updated on PTA information, activities and events?

We use a variety of ways to keep you informed – PTA Facebook Page, PTA Meetings, emails, school newsletter, sign up genius and the weekly school call.
